Very much to her parent's delight, Sequoia absolutely loves the water.

She was fortunate to have access to a local beach last summer and we made great use of it, often stopping there on the way home from school.

She is somewhat fearless, and a whole lot hilarious.

There is not much that gets her down. I think most people would like to have her joy for life.

She is definitely a little mini-me of her mommy in looks and personality.

But that is OK. As long as they both love me and allow me to splash in the water with them, I'm cool with that.

We are having a ball watching Sequoia discover everything around her. We read last night that during the next year she will average 10 new words a day....I'm not kidding. I think she will be editing this blog by June.

One good thing about being in Maryland, just one, is that we are closer to several family members. This has allowed Sequoia to get to know her Grandmom, and some aunts, uncles and cousins. It also allowed Sequoia to spend time with her granddad before he passed away. As they say, that was priceless.

We hope that she gets to see more of her older cousins since she absolutely adores being one of the big kids. She is very comfortable being in the middle of the action.

She is also comfortable giving out a big old confident smile with birthday cake smeared from ear to ear.
What can I say. I think she got that part from me.
