We would all like to take a moment to announce the arrival of the newest Newberg
Axel Summit Newberg
Born Tuesday March 6th
12:09 pm
He weighed in at 8 lbs 6 1/2 ounces
and was 20 inches long
That is basically exactly the same size that Sequoia showed up.
She was only 1 ounce lighter, but the exact same length.
I guess that is just the way we build them...
So far this has been a wonderfully uneventful delivery where everything has gone exactly as planned, and exactly on schedule.
Axel has, during his first 24 hours anyway, proven to be a very healthy, calm and cooperative boy.
That description sounds very promising until Colleen's sister Sherri mentioned that cousin Aiden was exactly that way at birth...he is now an energetic handful.
She said it as a warning, but in all honesty I would be beyond thrilled should Axel grow up to emulate Aiden, as I find him to be extremely bright, creative, loving and funny.
But our Axel will have to find his own path....regardless of the plans that I have for him.
Sequoia is thrilled about being a big sister. She is very good with him already and enjoys holding him and singing made up lullabies to him.
Our friends Kelli and Ariel managed to stop by for a visit.
Axel even slept enough to allow Colleen an uninterrupted 5 hours of sleep the first night.
Sister Sherri brought cousins Ryley and Aiden to visit tonight.
They were very excited to meet Axel and as always, Sequoia was thrilled to get to play with her older cousins.
In the above picture you have the Big Sister club on the right and the Little Brother club on the left.
Mommy and the little guy are doing great.
Welcome to our world Axel. We are all very excited to have you complete our family.
