Visiting with her friends

Sequoia has been busy even though she is still a few days away from joining us. She has been visiting with her little friends who she met during our baby class. So far she has met Connor James Woodruff who is a handsome 1-1/2 month old little son of our friends Donnie and Victoria, Ava Page who is the adorable 1-1/2 month old little girl of our friends Troy and Rebecca and Grant William Liddycoat - the 2 week old son of my co-worker Scott and his wife Kim. Colleen and I have been absorbing as much information as possible from our friends - learning how to hold a newborn, what helps to keep them from crying, what makes them smile, how they prefer to eat ... and what we have learned is that everyone seems to do it differently ... and it works out fine. Hopefully we will figure it all out as we go.

We have the nursery ready, the closet full of diapers and the car seats in the cars. Now all we need is a little girl to play with and we'll be all set.

Colleen is due on the 20th, so little Sequoia will be arriving very soon.

Now I see what Sequoia has picked up from me. She is still waiting to be born, but has already shown she knows how to do some conniving. The big difference is that she does it with cuteness and charm where I did it by pouting and crying. It must be her mommy and two grandmothers' influence that is the source of the charm, as she sure didn't get that part from her Pop-Pop. Sure hope you have a safe easy journey when you finally come to live with all of your loving family who can hardly wait to meet you.
