First snow day ...

On Monday Sequoia experienced her first official snowstorm.

We really do not get much snow here in Virginia so this was a big event. It was honestly just a dusting around here - maybe three inches - but it was white and fluffy and cold.

I was glad that she had another excuse to use the awesome set of snow-bibs that I bought her for Christmas.

Between the snow-suit and her diaper I think her backsides stayed pretty warm even while sitting in the snow taking it all in.

She had a ball crawling around in it and patting it with her hands.

She definitely does not appear to mind the cold at all. I will chalk that up to my genetics, although Colleen certainly enjoys playing in the snow in spite of her tendency to be cold regardless of the temperature.

When I got home from work we were able to go trailblazing in the backyard in search of our trail.

The snow caught the holly trees off guard and doubled many of them over to the point that their tops were touching the ground.

We had a lot of fun chasing the dogs through the snow and watching Sequoia experience this new white stuff.

She did not even complain when dollops of snow wound up down her jacket as we crawled under some of the branches.

After our walk we were joined inside by our cat Evinrude. He is normally an outdoors cat but I think the snow had him rethinking that decision. Sequoia absolutely adores that cat and Evinrude is amazingly gentle and patient with her.

Oh boy what beautiful photos of Sequoia in the snow...and also with her Daddy! These are such fun times......it's so neat that the three of you get to share them together. Your yard lends itself to these sorts of pictures, the trees and bushes provide great background.

Thanks for another great blog entry!

Love you guys....Grandmom and Granddad
