Sequoia's big bike ride...

Today we were able to get out and take a wonderful bike ride as a family for the first time since Sequoia made us a family.

We had taken a few short rides with her new seat, but only 3-5 miles. Today we stretched it out to closer to 20 miles. I know that is not exactly Earth shattering stuff, but I'll take it.

We headed over to Yorktown Battlefield and rode the Battle Field tour loop and then connected up with the forest service road loop that connects up with Newport News Park.

Sequoia absolutely loved every minute of the ride, as did Colleen and I. The weather was perfect and the ride was beautiful.

At the halfway point of the ride we took advantage of a vacant group campsite to spread out our picnic and stretch our legs.

Sequoia did not mind that our picnic was not too gourmet - mostly string cheese, crackers, apples and water - yummy... she was in a very good mood today and as is usually the case, was just happy to be out and about doing stuff with us.

But when it was time to go she loaded back up in her seat, strapped on her new helmet and smiled all the way home.
We are really excited about this new activity opening back up to us and are looking forward to putting some miles on our bikes this year.

Once again I'm having a little trouble leaving comments....I think I'm a tad rusty in this department. But as usual, the blog entries are just precious --- it's so much fun to see Sequoia at the Easter Egg Hunt, and picking "clover Bunnies" ---

Wish we'd been there, too!

I think I left the previous comment for the wrong entry.... anyway, what a NEAT adventure, a long, long bike ride plus a picnic! Too cute and very much fun, it's obvious! We know you'll enjoy many, many more of these outings! Grandmom and Granddad
