Sequoia enjoys her days at home with Colleen, especially days like today that are bright and sunny, and both are momentarily between colds.Sequoia has been enjoying practicing her walking using the sporty walker that Aunt Kathleen gave her for Christmas.
Although the day never really warmed up, it was one of those clear, crisp, sunny winter days that beckons you outdoors.
Colleen dressed Sequoia in one of the sweater and headbands that Sequoia's great grandma Dot made for her.
You can tell by the rosy cheeks how cold it was though. Sequoia does not seem to mind the cold though - something she CERTAINLY got from me and not mommy.
I can not begin to describe how nice it has been to have Colleen in a position to stay home with Sequoia. Whatever sacrifices were involved in getting to that spot have been worth it.
It is hard to picture what this first year would have been like if we had both been working and Sequoia had been off at day care every day. Hopefully we will be able to keep this up until it is our choice to change things, but for now, every day that Colleen can spend with Sequoia is precious to us and something that we would not trade for anything.

How sweet Sequoia looks in her precious hand-made sweater and headband set from her Great-Grandma Dot! I envy that knitting ability and wish I could make things for OUR girl, too. Maybe someday ---
We agree that it's been a wonderful boon for you as a family, to have Colleen staying at home during these early times in Sequoia's life. It'll make such a difference for all. It can't have been easy to cut down from two salaries to one, but since it was possible, it's great that you did it.
We love you guys, Grandmon & Granddad
