Mommy gets baby feet....

Baby feet ... you have to admit that one of the more fascinating things about babies is how they have these little miniature features. Little hands with laughably tiny finger nails. Equally diminutive feet with, in the case of Sequoia, monkey like toes. She is currently almost as dexterous with her toes as with her fingers - able to grab and hold on to things with surprising strength. This is a feature she has definitely gotten from her mom.
Well, now that I have almost mastered the trick of getting Sequoia to take a bottle (I love the fact that she basically goes comatose while I feed her - arms hanging straight down at her side) Colleen can occasionally get out of the house and visit with friends and hold real conversations that don't automatically revolve around a certain someone's eating and pooping schedule. Last night Colleen went out with our friend Becky for a night of pampering. Becky had given Colleen a gift certificate for a pedicure. I don't pretend to understand the attraction of having some stranger mess with your feet and paint your nails, but I do understand the value of a night of relaxing and pampering yourself. Colleen came home smiling and happy with red toes and soft soles. I guess that is a good thing. Her feet really were just about as soft as Sequoia's....
As for Sequoia and I ... well one of us will probably eventually understand the appeal of a pedicure ... the other one will most likely just continue to go along for the ride.
