On Saturday the 27th we packed up the Rav-4 with all of our stuff (a task made monumental with the addition of all of Sequoia's Christmas loot) and headed back across the Chesapeake for another short visit with my family.
Our first stop along the way was a quick lunch at my sister Peggy's house where we had a nice lunch with my parents, Peggy and her husband Jeff.
After lunch Colleen, sequoia and I headed on down to spend Saturday night and Sunday at my parents house visiting with them.
As with most grand kids - Sequoia thinks that her grandmother's house is a wonderful playground. I am not certain that I remember having quite the freedom to play with my mom's belongings the way Sequoia gets away with it...
Sequoia really enjoyed this trip since last time she was here she could not even crawl ... this time she is almost walking and there was certainly a lot more stuff for her to do - like empty all of the lower shelves of books and trinkets...Grandmom evidently needed plenty of help with that since all of the lower shelves had things that needed pulling out and tossed on the floor.
Her smile definitely shows the good feeling of accomplishment that comes along with a job well done....
During our visit at my parents we also drove back over to my brother Mark's house for lunch on Sunday so that Sequoia could see her cousins Chris and Will again. On the drive over we saw these two beautiful Bald Eagles in a field.
Not great shots, but I thought I would add them in anyway ... it seems to me that eagles are enough of a good luck charm that they belong in this blog somewhere. So after a fun visit, we all once again packed up the car, now loaded with even more stuff (I'm not kidding, Sequoia literally had to be loaded in sequence with the other stuff in order for everything to fit...if we had an accident she was going to be very well protected by bags of clothes etc...) we headed down the Eastern Shore in search of our traditional New Years Beach... rarely the same beach from year to year, but almost always at the ocean somewhere.

These pictures bring back so many wonderful memories of your visit with us over the Christmas holidays. We did enjoy seeing you three so much. We'd been waiting a long time for your visit and it was great getting to see how Sequoia has grown and matured. Such a little sweetie.......always so excited about every thing. No wonder you get such good pictures of her!
