Happy New Year...

We made it home from our road trip in time to celebrate New Years Eve with some of our friends in Gloucester ... a rare portion of the baby group that we knew before any of us became parents. We had a nice dinner at the local Thai restaurant ... in spite of the fact that they did not have even one high chair for any of our three babies.

Scott got to show Grant how Canadians ring in the New Year ... by drinking imported Budweiser instead of Molson's....

I don't think there is any concern that either father or son suffers from a lack of personality...

This is Elaina's first appearance on the blog along with her mom Dawn.

It has been an eventful year - no doubt about that.

At this time last year I am not certain what I was expecting, but I am certain I did not have a clue about any of it. I certainly could not have hoped for such a wonderful little girl.

I love the way every little part of the day is enriched and enlivened by Sequoia's presence. I don't know what 2009 will bring for us - certainly there are some very real hurdles that we will need to work our way through, but it is reassuring to know that we will face them as a family.

All I know for certain is that my life is richer and fuller with this little clown in my life. That is pretty much all I could ever wish for going in to the new year.
